Communicating With The Palm Beach County Commissioners Concerning a Traffic Signal on Hypoluxo
The first Tuesday of each month is an Open forum to speak or send comments to the PBC commissioners. The next meeting is June 6th
If you want to speak in person you need to attend at 2PM at this address:
Palm Beach County Robert Weisman Governmental Center, 6th floor Commission Chambers, 301 N. Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach.
Each person gets 3 min
If you want to send in a comment you just need to use this link and fill out the form https://survey.pbcgov.com/s3/PA-Public-Comment
The following are suggestions that are typical comments you may wish to send to the county. These are only examples.
-
The Florida Turnpike expansion at Hypoluxo Road coupled with the ongoing development of commercial, housing, and business developments at Hypoluxo west of us are adding to the already high peak (and high speed) traffic volume we already experience. These conditions will exacerbate the difficulties entering and exiting our Hypoluxo gate.
-
The entrances and exits of Isola Bella and Villaggio located on Hypoluxo Road are directly opposite each other, and in combination form a traditional intersection
-
The curve of the road inhibits visibility to the East from both of the exits. Visibility of the exits by westbound traffic is very limited due to that curve. The oncoming and turning traffic is very difficult to judge and navigate. Given that the physical layout is unalterable, the only remaining solution to alleviate this dangerous situation is to install a traffic light.
-
Traffic turning into Villaggio from the west will cross directly in front of traffic coming from the east as will traffic exiting Isola Bella and turning to the West. The exit at Isola Bella serves as a school bus exit.
-
High-speed traffic in both directions past these entrances and exits and the ever-increasing vehicle volume, have resulted in numerous accidents causing bodily injuries and property destruction.
-
Over the past several years we have addressed the problem with county officials. The homeowners of the Villaggio and Isola Bella communities as well as visitors, vendors, and those traveling on Hypoluxo have voiced our concerns as evidenced by the 800-plus signatures affixed to a petition urging the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection
