As part of the Florida’s Turnpike widening project from Boynton Beach Boulevard/SR 804 to Lake Worth Road/SR 802, construction activities are set to begin next Tuesday, March 28th at the Hypoluxo Road bridge over Florida’s Turnpike/State Road (SR) 91. This work is anticipated to continue through early 2025.
Crews will begin working on the eastbound lanes of the Hypoluxo Road bridge as part of the first bridge reconstruction phase. As part of this phase, eastbound traffic will be shifted slightly to the north side of the bridge. During these operations, the sidewalk will be closed to pedestrian traffic on the south side of the bridge. Pedestrians will be able to use the sidewalk on the north side of the bridge.
One lane in each direction of the Hypoluxo Road bridge will remain open to traffic and emergency vehicles. Most bridge construction activities will take place between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 p.m., seven days a week. Please take note of any posted signs in the area that inform motorists of the changes. For more information about this project, please visit the Turnpike website: Florida’s Turnpike/State Road (SR) 91 from Boynton Beach Boulevard/SR 804 to Lake Worth Road/SR 802 in Palm Beach County.
We encourage all residents to enter and exit during this time through the Lyons Road Residents gate.
We are currently in the process of making adjustment at the Lyons Road gate in anticipation of the increase in use and to facilitate additional access for first responders.
