End of Year Ruven’s Resturant Take-out Information
During the month of June, which is the last month of our yearly cafe card, we had numerous problems at Reuven’s Restaurant. Some residents trying to spend down whatever was left on their card called in extremely large takeout orders. They were told that they could not be accommodated and would have to reduce their orders and come on multiple days. We understand that this was both frustrating and disappointing. While Reuven’s does offer takeout, most of the staff are there for patrons that are eating in the restaurant. Since he services multiple communities, and their residents are trying to do the same thing, in the same timeframe, it became impossible for him respond to the takeout orders while still serving his dining in patrons. Most of his competitors have policies reducing the amount of daily takeout in the month of June. We are told that Flakowitz limits takeout in June to $25 per day. Steve asked us if we were willing to agree to a similar policy. After some discussion, he has agreed to limit the takeout in June only, and only from Ruven’s Restaurant, not our cafe, to $75 per day. The Board has approved this change. This policy will affect very few residents. For those residents, we hope you will understand.
Villaggio Board of Directors
Cafe Cards Info
Recently you received the Quarterly statement from GRS and a number of residents have questioned the Cafe Debit Fee charge. Last year during the budget process the Finance Committee suggested that our surplus was getting too large and we should find a way to reduce it, and return it to our residents. The Board agreed and decided to subsidize this years Cafe card cost by $350 reducing the out of pocket cost to each resident to $150.
This does not change the value of the card. You still have $500 to spend on food at our cafe or Ruvens restaurant. Also, should you sell all, or any part of the card, its real value is $500. This is the second of our three year contract with Ruvens.
