Demo Days – We invite a local tennis shop to come periodically throughout the year and let our residents demo different kinds of racquets. This is a fun way to try new technologies and different brands to see what best fit you. It also gets the members acquainted with local tennis shops and services.
Mixer Events – Throughout the year we run several events. Usually these events run on Friday evenings. People sign up and get put into a round robin format. Depending on what type of mixer we run for that event, you can play with your same partner or many different partners. There is usually food and drinks provided with this event. Lately, our Pro has included music in the background. It is a fun new way to meet people and play with different levels and experiences. Cost may vary depending on what’s provided.
Pro-Am – We invite local tennis Pros in the area to come play in a doubles match format. This can include an Amateur/Pro vs. Amateur/Pro. It can also be a Pro with three other amateurs. Usually it is run where everyone gets to play a couple games with the Pro. The Pro’s job is to keep it competitive and he/she can usually stop play and help players on their positioning and where they should be hitting the ball. An event like this can last about 1 ½ hours. It is a ton of fun. A lot can be learned when you sign up for this.
Pro-Day – We invite Tennis professionals from all over. On each court, a Pro is teaching a different topic. For example, one Pro is teaching volleys while the other Pro is teaching serves. You are on each Pro’s court for about 20 minutes and rotate. You will get to experience all types of things that can improve your game. This is one of our most popular events. Each Pro that is on the court with you is certified and is well trained. Most often we invite tennis directors who have been teaching for many years. Once you come to one of these, you will always want to learn in this fashion.
Stroke of the Month – This is a clinic designed with a specific purpose. This clinic is an hour long and features a theme or topic. Backhand can be one of the topics. The Pro will break down the backhand frame by frame. He will look at what the student does and try to add on to what you already have. It is important to know that he doesn’t try to change too much of a student’s game in a group setting.
Team Clinics – Many teams in our community try to reserve various team clinics with our Pro. These clinics are designed to help you and your partner learn form and work on positioning and placement of the ball. This is a very effective way to learn different strategies for you and your partner and it doesn’t break the bank!
Three and Me – This is a clinic designed for three students to play an hour with the Pro. Everyone will get a chance to play with the Pro. This is a good way to learn about positioning and placement. He breaks down the situations and really shows you how to handle the pressures that occur when you play the game.
Private Lessons – Our community offers hour or half hour private lessons. This is a way to really develop your game. You are working one on one with our experienced Professional to add or adjust things in your game. If you want to really grow as a tennis player, this is what you need to do!
